Education Ministry

The St. Gemma Sisters of Dodoma manage a range of educational institutions across Tanzania, each with a distinct mission and focus, yet all united by the charism of their patroness, St. Gemma Galgani. Rooted in the spiritual legacy of compassion, love, and sacrifice, these institutions provide a nurturing environment for children and young people, particularly those from marginalized and disadvantaged backgrounds. Below is a narrative overview of these key institutions.

Healthcare Ministry

St. Gemma Sisters run St. Gemma Hospital in Dodoma, Tanzania. A Beacon of Faith-Based Healthcare. Located in the heart of Dodoma within the Central Zone, the St. Gemma Hospital has been a cornerstone of healthcare services for the local community since its establishment on August 14, 2004. Operated by the Congregation of St. Gemma Sisters of Dodoma, a Roman Catholic faith-based organization, this district-level hospital provides a wide range of essential medical services, embodying a mission of compassionate care rooted in the values of faith, hope, and charity.

Pastoral Ministry

These services are comprehensive, covering a range of activities that cater to the spiritual nourishment, education, and overall well-being of the individuals and families they serve.

Social Outreach Ministry

The Congregation of St. Gemma Galgani is deeply committed to social justice, with a strong focus on serving the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable members of society. Their social apostolate is a direct manifestation of their spirituality, which is rooted in the charism of St. Gemma Galgani, known for her deep compassion for the suffering and her profound commitment to living a life of humility, sacrifice, and service.

The sisters see their work as an extension of Christ’s mission of love and mercy, bringing hope and dignity to those who are often overlooked by society.
