On the mid-afternoon of 25 May 2026, a devastating fire broke out at the Cheshire Home for Disabled Children in Miyuji, Dodoma. The blaze spread rapidly through the facility, destroying Infirmary building, and essential supplies.

Thanks to the swift response of local residents and emergency services, many children were safely evacuated.
